Dr Gerri Oâ€™Neill completed her PhD thesis â€˜Private Lives and Public Personas: female participation in the IRA during Irelandâ€™s War of Independenceâ€™ at DCUâ€™s School of History & Geography. She tutors three history modules with DCUâ€™s Open Education Unit and is currently editing a book based on her thesis. She is She is also researching the origins and activities of the Citizensâ€™ Defence Force during the Civil War, 1922-23.
